Policies & Procedures
Insurance Policy
We do not accept insurance directly due to the constraints that affect both therapists and clients. However, once you have signed up for the client portal, you will have access to a detailed bill of service that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement according to your specific plan.
Payment Methods
We accept various payment methods for your convenience. Payments can be made using cash, checks, or HSA credit cards at the time services are rendered. We ask that you keep a card on file in your client portal when you begin working with us.
Cancellation Policy
Your scheduled appointment is reserved exclusively for you, your family, or your child. If you need to cancel, we kindly ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to provide this notice will result in a charge for 50% of the session fee. Please be aware that cancellations must be made by phone at 203-424-1888; we cannot accept cancellation requests via email.
Emergency Procedures
In the event of an emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room for immediate care. Once you are safe, we encourage you to contact your therapist as soon as possible to inform them of the situation.
Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The relationship between a client and a psychotherapist/medical provider is protected by law, ensuring that information cannot be disclosed without your written consent. There are, however, specific exceptions to this confidentiality:
Mandatory Reporting: We are legally required to report any suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or dependent adult abuse to the appropriate authorities immediately.
Threats to Others: If a client poses a serious threat to the safety of another person, we must alert law enforcement and inform the intended victim, as well as report any property damage as mandated by Connecticut law.
Self-Harm Risks: If a client expresses an intention to harm themselves, we will take every precaution to ensure their safety. If they do not cooperate, we are obligated to take further measures as allowed by law to protect them.
By following these policies and procedures, we aim to create a safe and supportive environment for all clients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
